PHILIP KANIGAN - Notary

Philip is a Notary Public with an office located in Castlegar, British Columbia. Due to the geographical proximity of the surrounding area; our office is able to serve the Castlegar, Trail, Nelson, Beaver Valley, and Slocan Valley areas. In addition , due to our electronic and online capabilities, were are able to act for clients virtually anywhere in the world. For example, in the past we have represented clients in Indonesia, China, various states in the USA, and most provinces in Canada.
Prior to becoming a Notary Public, Phil was a successful general dentist for many years in Castlegar. Phil has an extremely diverse educational background which includes financial management(Canadian Securities courses), political science, psychology, philosophy, dentistry and astronomy.
Phil has received a Diploma in Arts & Sciences from Selkirk College in Castlegar, BC, a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) and a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree(DMD) from the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, BC; in addition to his Commission as a Notary Public (NP) for British Columbia.
Phil has served as a volunteer board member of many non-profit associations including the Castlegar Minor Hockey Association, Castlegar Rebels Junior Hockey Club, Beaver Valley Junior Hockey Club, Central Okanagan Hospice Association and Canadian Mental Health and Association (Kelowna Branch). Phil has also been an active member of Rotary International, in the past.
In addition to his membership in the Society of Notaries Public of BC, Phil still maintains his membership in the Academy of General Dentistry(AGD)
In 2009, the President(Susan Davis) of The Society of Notaries Public of BC, appointed Phil to the Business Development Committee of the Society of Notaries Public of BC. In 2010 , the President (John Eastwood) of The Society of Notaries Public of BC, appointed Phil to the Legislation and Bylaws Committee of the Society of Notaries Public of BC , as Vice-Chair. In 2011 the President (John Eastwood) of The Society of Notaries Public of BC, appointed Phil to the FAMILY LAW EDUCATION TASK FORCE of the Society of Notaries Public of BC .
Phil can usually be seen running down the local highway , early every morning

Cara is the Receptionist /Jr. Conveyancer in our Notary Practice. She joined our team in 2010 . Cara has worked previously for many years in a local real estate and accounting office , as an administative assistant and office manager. She exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Cara will be most likely be the first person you encounter, as you arrive at our office, or call our office.
